Trail Tote Pattern

(A casual and easy-to-wear tote that will feature your favorite fabrics! This crossbody style tote bag comes in two sizes for whatever stage of life you’re in. An exterior zipper securely holds your keys and phone. Edged in piping and an adjustable strap make this bag beautiful & functional. Not to mention, fun to sew!

Features:

• two sizes to sew! Small and Large

Get the following supplies from my shop:

• 6" zipper* (for Small size)
• 8" zipper* (for Large size)
• cording for making piping
• strap hardware kit (1"-wide for the Small OR 1.5"-wide for the Large)
• magnetic snaps OR take it to the next level and use a Loxx fastener
• waxed cord or leather zipper pulls for that special finishing touch!

* pattern assumes fixed-length zipper and zipper tape width of 1”/2.5cm you can substitute by-the-yard/continuous zipper, you’ll need 7 ½”/9 ½” [19/24 cm] and one pull (per bag)

Approx. Finished Dimensions:

• Small: 10” wide by 10 ½” tall, 1½” deep [25.4 x 26.7 x 3.8 cm]

• Large: 14 ½” wide by 15” tall, 2 ½” deep [36.8 x 38.1 x 6.4 cm]

Recommended Fabrics:

Midweight Canvas (6-8 oz. weight) for exterior. Quilting cotton for accent & lining.

Additional supplies + tools:

Polyester thread, water-soluble pen/tailor’s chalk, cutting mat, ruler, rotary cutter, size 14 or 16 denim or Microtex needle, glue or glue pen, pinking shears, ¼”-wide fusible tape (such as Pellon), piping foot.
