Happy Friday everyone! It’s kind of hard to believe Christmas is only a couple weeks away. Especially because we don’t even have snow on the ground here, it’s weird!

Cloud9 sent me some of their new knits to try and my girls both gave them all the heart eyes. They’re super soft and I couldn’t say no to a request for pajamas.

I love sewing for my girls when they’re excited for something, it really makes it so much more fun when they see a fabric and pick out something they’d love to wear. We definitely have gone through our phases of handmade. Of course when they were super little they liked pretty much anything I made. Once they got to a certain age (I don’t even remember! eek!) they really got particular about what they would actually wear. So a lot of my projects sat in the drawer unused for the most part. I finally wised up and focused more on making a few things, but making them comfortable and asking opinions before I started. It’s worked well and they’re actually at an age now where we can be super selective on which patterns and types of fabrics we use, and they’ll actually wear them, a lot!

These jammies for Emily have been worn to bed every night since I finished them. That says a lot about how comfortable it is! The shirt is an Oliver + S Field Trip Raglan tee. I had made it before for Natalie and luckily enough the size somewhat fits Emily now. It’s nice to have it traced out and all ready to go. One less step! I fiddled around quite a bit with the neck and sleeve bindings. I wish I had on hand some knit that matched with better stretch recovery, but this gray worked fairly well. It doesn’t have great recovery, but it seems to be okay so far. I avoided serging the neck seam because Emily has pretty sensitive skin. I suppose I might go back and finish it with twill tape one of these days.

The pants are ones I’ve wanted to make for sooooo long! They’re the Mini Hudson Pant by True Bias. I bought the pattern right away when it came out and had on my list for so long. I know my girls love comfy knits, so buying the pattern was a no brainer. And they came together so quickly, I absolutely love the pattern! I love the cute pocket trim detail and the waistband is so soft and cozy. Love the way it’s constructed.

I have some knit set aside for Natalie’s jammies and I hope to get to them soon!
