Each month I love this quilting bee more and more. Of course it helps that everyone in Ringo Pie is ultra talented and creative. March was Lucinda’s month and she chose the theme: beginnings. I thought this was especially fun because she said groups of smaller blocks were welcome, so I went for it!
These three little quilt blocks are at the largest 6″ and at the smallest 4″ square. Mine are tiny little new green leaves, but after looking at them I kind of thought they looked like hosta leaves.
They’re one of the first plants we have in our backyard, and they come in such a variety of pretty shades of green and white.
Hope you like them Lucinda and your quilt is going to be just beautiful!
and just because I feel like it, here’s a fun couple shots of our new rope swing in action!
Great blocks Anna! I am so jealous of all of you in this bee. The blocks are just the best!
These are certainly truly spring like, LOVE them!!
Very beautiful. Look forward to seeing the finished article.
Those are just great! I love all the shades you did and the piecing is perfect!
so precious
Your blocks are gorgeous. I love how small and simple they are, yet they make a big impact. Clever idea. And the girls look thrilled with the new swing 🙂
oh they are so beautiful. I can’t wait to see the finished quilt.
absolutely gorgeous…you always have such class in your simple and pure styles. I am in love, as always.
So pretty.
Wow, those are really pretty. You know I’m a sucker for anything with leaves. Love your girls’ hats too. So cute!
These blocks really make me sigh! (in a good way) the patterns are just right and great print orientation and placement too, I totally see the Hosta leaf shape
Beautiful! Love the fabrics as well!
I love those — so beautiful and original. Love the pattern, the choice of colors and the “theme.”
Today I posted about your 241 Pattern and showed my creation with that pattern. Later this week I’ll show another that I made for myself!

I am in love with these blocks… But HOW in the world do you do it?? I love to sew (although I am pretty new at it, and not so great) I have made a few of the things in your tutorial section… These are absolutely beautiful and I would love to be able to do something like this some day!Any hints/tips/advice would be awesome!
Those are gorgeous blocks! Love the pictures of your girls!
These blocks are beautiful! The leaves on the hostas in my garden are just unfurling so this is quite apt!
You know I love the blocks (flickr), but I also love those pictures of the girls. Aren’t they having fun! I’m wondering if they dress themselves monochromatically all by themselves? Love it!
Super sweet (your blocks and your girls!).
beautiful, they sing spring to me 🙂 Great choice of colours and patterns.
Love them! Lucinda’s quilt is going to be really beautiful!
Those are awesome sprouts. You’ll have to post a tutorial. Can’t wait to see it all put together!
the sweetest blocks I ever saw. truly. love them.
These quilt pieces are fantastic. The best blocks I’ve seen in a while!
This looks fantastic. I am looking forward to see the result.
wow, beautiful! how did you manage to sew that, i mean, those curved lines? amazing
Anna, these are gorgeous! Love them! 🙂
um, these are amazing. I’ve never attempted quilt blocks before, but I’m pretty sure this would be hard and if I tried it they would come out looking like wavy va-jay-jays! yours are perfect.
Your blocks are beautiful 🙂 they remind me of Spring and warmth 🙂
The girls look like they are having so much fun on the rope swings, oh to be a child again 🙂
These are so pretty! The colors are very soothing. Like Amy, I’m jealous of all the blocks that are coming out of this bee!
Hostas are great plants. So hardy! I had some at my old house and they were also the first plants to come up.
amazing- so simple and so perfect
amazing, i’m so frightened to sew curves!
gorgeous anna! you are very clever 🙂
these are so pretty and calm. just lovely. And your girls seem to love their new swing.
Ingenious quilt blocks! I’ve never sewn quilt blocks with curves in them – didn’t even know you could do it and have it look halfway decent. But yours look perfect. Any tips for me on how to do it?
Those blocks are ssssoooo pretty!! I wish I could sew like you!!! You are so talented:-)
so SO pretty!
So simple and striking…very springtime-y!
These leaves are so beautiful. Did you piece the curves? I would love to know how you did this. Very creative!
Oh My! Would you please tell us how to make these. I can`t tell you how much I love these. I have become a little bit addicted to quilting but round is new to me. Please teach us!
Love love love.
I adore these little blocks, how do you get that central stem so spot on?
I am trying to figure out how you did this! Love the blocks. Pleeeease post a tutorial 🙂
Also would LOVE a tutorial. Can’t stop thinking about the budding leaves. Would love one on a notebook cover. Surely I could stitch up one… I haven’t done any curved seam quilt blocks yet.
Just lovely!!!
Wow! How did you piece the curves on the leaves? Did you follow a pattern or do it freestyle? I’d love to learn how to do that. Do you have a tutorial for it?
