Hi there, I’m Anna! Glad you stopped by.

EST. 2010

I’m a mom to two incredibly inspiring daughters. My oldest daughter had the curliest blonde hair when she was little and my nickname for her was ‘noodlehead’. It’s one of many nicknames, but it stuck, it’s fun and a little goofy – just like us. I’m pretty sure I’m a lot like you. I love to sew and be creative.

I grew up sewing with my mom. It definitely wasn’t my favorite thing to do, but I loved being able to make something on my own. Having two daughters gave me the drive to start sewing more and more.

Before having children, I graduated college in 2002 with a B.A. in Art. I thought I’d spend my working career doing graphic design and marketing, and did so for the first 10 years after college. But after falling in love with blogging and being able to do my own creative work, I started my blog in 2009. I started my business and selling my own patterns in 2010! Since launching my own patterns, I’ve also written a book (Handmade Style, Lucky Spool Media, 2015) and have designed several fabric collections.

I’m having fun creating, making up new things as I go along, and discovering new techniques. I wouldn’t be sewing today if it weren’t for the support of my family and friends along the way. Thank you!

If this is your first visit, please feel free to check out the free tutorials and browse my shop where you can shop my original designs as well as shop for supplies. Here are a few posts you might like to read: Where I sew, My Sewing machine

I currently use a Janome 1600p.
