Paper Cuts Quilt featuring Quarry Trail

I’m so excited to share this quilt today! It’s the Paper Cuts quilt featuring Quarry Trail! Paper Cuts is a quilt pattern by Megan of Then Came June and I just love it! I think it is the perfect showcase for your favorite fabrics.

When I was getting ready to make my samples for Quarry Trail (that’s my new fabric collection for Robert Kaufman Fabrics), Paper Cuts jumped right to the top! I loved that Megan gave instructions for making this using directional prints. Quarry Trail does have directional prints so I made sure to note that (I made the Throw size).

Each column is made up of the same print in my sample, but Megan has tons of examples of scrappy and solid versions, too, so be sure to check them out!

Of course I was pushing it to the last minute so I quilted this one myself, too. I really do love quilting on my machine. It’s fairly quick on a quilt this size (~56×68″). I did simple straight lines and just kept quilting! I used Kona Natural for the background and love how it compliments Quarry Trail. I like the subtle flecks in the Kona Natural.

I’m excited to make another quilt using this pattern. I love that it lets each print really shine! I haven’t made a quilt since this one and I’m really getting the itch to finish up a few in my work-in-progress pile that has been sadly neglected over the last few months.

Project Details:

Can’t wait to have this one back after it makes its tour to all the quilt shops!

I love that you featured this – when the fabric collection came out I purchased all the blue tones to make the same quilt pattern! It’s probably my favorite pattern collection I’ve seen.
