Sewing

Just Because Giveaway

[This giveaway is now closed, thank you to all who entered!]
I haven’t done a giveaway in so long! I felt like it would be fun to put together a few packages and help make the winter seem a little more bright! Brightening someone else’s day always makes me feel better. I had fun putting together four little bundles of fun, plus a bonus scrap package! Plus, it’s Valentine’s Day and super warm here, so why not?!

Each bundle contains a hunk of fabric, and either my book/booklet/or pattern plus a set of leather handles. So four winners will each get fabric, a book or pattern, and a set of leather handles! Also, my scrap bin is overflowing, so I figured a box filled with random fun sewing things would be a fun little surprise, too.

To enter:

  • Open to anyone in the US or Canada (I’ll catch you next time around international readers).
  • Leave one comment. For fun, tell me, what other hobby or fun thing you do for yourself besides sewing or crafting?
  • Giveaway closes Sunday, February 18th at 10 p.m. CST. Giveaway is now closed! Winners will be contacted via email.

And I wanted to take a moment to say how grateful I am to those who stop by my blog and leave a comment. Blogging has certainly changed over the years, but please know that I thoroughly enjoy everyone who comments on my posts. It’s especially been refreshing to hear from you on posts like this and this. Thank you!

That is a wonderful giveaway. Thank you for your generosity. I love to sew and quilt but also do wood working projects either from scratch or remake mainly for my family. I was a big hit when I made the tents you blogged about years ago for my grandsons…made them quilts to go inside too. All my besties have been gifted a bag sewn from your patterns. You have definitely contributed mightily in my creative endeavors. Thank you.

  39. Becca G says:

I have really enjoyed reading your blog & seeing your journey progress. It fills my heart to read about the transformation of your building. Been there, many years ago ,
it’s a lot of hard work but well worth it.
When I can figure out a way to download it
I want to get the backpack pattern . It looks like a well thought out versatile pattern that will come in handy when I need to bring more than a hand bag will contain plus it looks cooler than a tote bag.
Other than sewing (quilting, home deck & clothing). I like to remake & repurpose furniture, upholstery, stripping, staining & painting. I’m having a second go round with my kitchen cabinets now. They were originally a dark wood that I primed & painted gloss white. Now all the bottom cabinets have been stripped & will be primed & painted gloss red. I’m leaving the top ones white though.
I also enjoy a bit of gardening both flowers & vegetables, as well as reading fiction & non fiction.
My kids are grown now so I finally have time to do the things I enjoy without feeling guilty.

Thanks for hosting a cool giveaway! When I’m not sewing (or reading) I like trying new recipes. I’m currently on a macaron kick, which can be stressful, since the same recipe can come out 3 different ways depending on a constellation of not-necessarily-in-your-control factors.

  632. Nina Babiuk says:

I live in the mountain town of Pemberton, BC Canada, so other than sewing I love to get outdoors and mountain bike, hike and ski. Unfortunately on Whistler Mountain opening weekend back in November I fell on my first run of the season and ruptured (a full tear, so in two pieces) of my ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament in my knee) ending my ski season before it had even started. Since then I have been in a knee brace awaiting surgery and unable to ski or do much else outdoors. This has given me more time to sew, therefore winning your giveaway would go to great use, as I can’t do much until the snow melts :). I am thank full for the big windows in my sewing room though, haha.

Besides collecting sewing machines, I am always hunting down vintage Hawaiian fabric from the 50’s and 60’s – VHY, Alfred Shaheen, THC, etc. You gotta have great fabric to sew with! We Master Gardeners go into primary schools to help children plant and participate in the growing of flowers and food. We help the community with identifying what type of plant they have or pest and diseases.
