Yesss! Mittens! And just in time for fall and winter. I can hardly believe it!!! How did I plan this so well you say? Well, I didn’t. I actually started these mittens back in February. So there you have it.
I made these for my daughter Natalie after I realized that the blue is just the most beautiful with her eyes. I was gifted the yarn by my friend Amanda and I’m so glad to have a finished project! Natalie is super excited to have her mittens finally.
I didn’t spend any time on them over the summer, except for one weekend, but it was nice to know that the project was there are ready for when I was. This fall and winter I’m hoping to start a new knitting project or two and try to keep something going instead of taking a big break and forgetting things. Next up is an arm knit pillow that I bought yarn for last year and then hopefully a shawl.
I’m very thankful to be able to knit. It’s something that I never thought I could do. For me it’s a nice break from sewing and an opportunity to learn new things all the time. Well, I still do in sewing, but for knitting it feels a little different.
Pattern: Woodstack Mittens (size M) from Within
Yarn: Camellia Fiber Co.
I went from sewing to quilting to knitting to quilting to sewing. Now I am just trying to keep all of them going and learning to play nice with each other! Knitting is losing right now.
I started with knitting. I really enjoyed it, but it doesn’t get cold enough here. I want to crochet an afghan. Mostly, I love sewing. I love your patterns because they were some of the first sewing experiences I had. I’m self-taught and didn’t know I should fear zippers. Ha Ha Ha! I want to make that Range Backpack next. You have such a great design aesthetic. Keep doing your thing!
The mittens are so cute! I’ve been knitting a lot this fall. It’s nice to change things up!
Always (well, in the colder months) looking for mitten patterns, and these are lovely!
Beautiful mittens—wool mittens are the best, especially when someone knits them for you.
I love Natalie’s mittens. Great finish, Anna! I also enjoy knitting as a break from sewing. (Plus, sometimes it’s portable!) great photos, as usual!
