Campfire Messenger Bag PDF Pattern

Campfire Messenger Bag Pattern - Noodlehead

The Campfire Messenger Bag PDF Pattern is here! I’m excited that it’s available for sale now after being part of the Bag of the Month Club. Of course I don’t think the timing could get much better seeing as though were are in prime campfire season in the Northern Hemisphere! I love the clean lines of this bag and I think it translates really well in many different fabrics! Be sure to stop by the Bag of the Month flickr pool to view the Campfire Messenger Bags that the club members have made.

My girls are already asking for customized Campfire bags of their choosing! We’ll see if I ever get to making them, although my kids do love packing a little bag when we go on longer car rides, so maybe I should bump it up the old to-do list?!

A few fun things about the Campfire Messenger Bag:

  • Feature your favorite print on the Flap
  • Adjustable cross-body strap
  • Zippered, pleated and slip pockets
  • Optional top zipper closure
  • Hardware flap closure, plus two additional closure options!

Fabric: Deco Print by Sarah Waterhouse (flap fabric on blue bag), Yoyogi Park by Skinny Laminx for Cloud9 Fabrics, and the reverse side of my favorite denim

Below are the alternate closure options. I couldn’t resist not including the alternate closures in the pattern. I’ll blog about these two bags more in my next post, but hopefully it’ll give you a good idea of how the different closures look. I’m not sure I can pick a favorite.

Is this going to be a hard copy pattern as well? Love it!

  2. Melinda dyer Martin says:

As always I love them all. I have to say your workmanship is impeccable. Never a skipped stitch or a wonky corner. You are super talented. Thank you for sharing

This is fantastic….clean, crisp and such useful pockets in all the right places!!:)
Hmmmmmm….wonder how easy it would be to make it wider so a Macbook would fit inside?:) My girl has been asking for something….hmmm….one pocket wider might work!;)

  4. Diane says:

They are all so fun! I love how you put the fabrics together!

  5. Ruth says:

I love this bag! Would you say it’s for advanced sewers only though? Looks a bit tricky for me as an intermediate sewer.

  6. Ruth says:

Oops, sorry I just checked the pattern itself and of course you’ve got Skill Level on there! Intermediate sounds do-able for me! Going straight to the top of my wish list… My girls also love packing a bag of things to do for car trips and the pockets on this bag look perfect! Thank you!

  7. Sandra says:

A great bag, and I agree with earlier comments–very fine workmanship (workwomanship?) I await the hardcopy pattern.

  8. Dittany says:

I love this! I’m going to have to start practicing with my sewing machine again because this is a bag I definitely want to try my hand at!

  11. Beautiful!
I was wondering what fabric is used for the flap in the last bag with leather and d-ring closure?
    Thanks!

Another one on my list, and your book is on my birthday list – posted up on the fridge and saved in my Amazon Wish List since my family is bugging me for ideas.
