Poolside Tote – Gone Lakeside

poolside5

I’m re-naming this version of the Poolside Tote because it went Lakeside on it’s photo shoot (to Lake Neshonoc that is). I love how the colors look this time of year and by the lake on a cloudy fall day, you can’t get much better. This Poolside was made using Vanessa‘s new collection for Moda FabricsColor Theory. It’s super fresh and graphic and colorful, and of course plays so well with all her other collections.

I love making this big tote! And every time I make it, I fall in love again. I like using the quilting to stiffen things up. It makes for a really rugged tote!

Whatcha been making this fall? Up to your neck in Halloween costume sewing? I’m supposed to make Natalie a candy corn costume and Emily wants to be Olaf. It’ll be a good test at how creative I can get, I’m gonna need it!

Anna, I love the poolside tote I made and use it almost daily as my library bag. Love all the ones you made too.

The poolside tote is my favourite bag. It gets used for everything & I don’t need an excuse to make more!! I just have to decide on the fabric

This bag is so adorable! I love it. What kind of interfacing did you use? I still haven’t decided on interfacing for my next poolside tote.

Thanks so much! In the pattern I recommend 3 different scenarios. This one I used the cotton canvas, then low loft cotton batting on top, then the quilting cotton and quilted it all together. I still used a mid weight denim for the lining. Hope that helps! 🙂
