Stitch Savvy Blog Tour!

Welcome! Thanks to Deborah (Whipstitch) for inviting me to join in on her new book’s blog tour.  Her new book Stitch Savvy just came out and I’m so excited to share it with you today.

I’ll admit I was hesitant at first, I wasn’t sure what the book was about or what it would be like, but after being able to look over the book for a few weeks, I really think it’s invaluable!  I love all the tips and tricks Deborah provides, and man, it’s totally packed with these great tid bits.  For every project she gives you great details and options.

One of the things that makes the book unique is that once you find a project you like, there’s a little section at the end that leads you to your next project.  It’s really creative and I honestly think it’s helpful to get your creative juices going. When I decided on the Beaded Evening Clutch project (which I’ll get to in a sec), I read through it and at the end, I found a lovely little section of things I can try next.

And you know, it was fun, I have my next project planned (just waiting on a few supplies) and it wasn’t a project that I would have picked out initially.  How awesome is that?!  I’m excited to give it a try, it’s the Photo Transfer Wall Art project.

So I really wanted to be thorough and felt like making a project would help me get a better feel for the book.  It was great! I felt like she included some real-life difficulties you might encounter, which proved to be really helpful.

I’m happy how my little metal frame pouch turned out, and I felt more confident in making it after reading Deborah’s instructions and tips.  You can definitely tell she’s a great sewing instructor.  Oh and did I mention that all the patterns are on the nifty CD at the back of the book?  Awesome.

Thanks Deborah!  And please check out the other stops on the blog tour:
