kidlets for the kidlets

Trying to tidy up the joint bit by bit.  I’ve loved looking at everyone’s kidlets in JCasa’s flickr pool.  Yes, I love all of JCasa’s creations and it’s been fun seeing her on Sew, Mama, Sew each month!  Anyways, I had wanted to make two for the girls for their hats and mittens during the winter, but for now they’ll just hold some sunglasses and maybe a pair of crocs.

My dad helped me out big time with the coat racks.  He helped make and install them a while back and it has been so nice!  Adults get the upper rack and kiddos get the lower one – perfect.  No more coats dangling off of every chair in our house.

I made the blue/yellow version for Emily since she is so obsessed with kitties (probably because we don’t have one).  She’ll crawl around like a kitty, meow like a kitty, and of course be the first to point out a kitty in a book or at the store.  The kitty was actually part of a vintage hankie I picked up at an estate sale, I got lucky that time.

Also just wanted to say a special thank you to everyone who bought my first ever pattern!  Your kindness and encouragement is overwhelming.  And just to let you know the free tutorial is still over on my tutorials list.

Those are really darling! Coat rack is definitely on my list for the next winter. I sure don’t like it when our coats end up on our coach or on the back of the chairs. 🙂 This one it would be very handy to have. 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

They’re perfect – so cute and just the right size to hang on that coat rack and catch those little pieces (that would otherwise end up on the floor).

By the way, I made one of your gathered clutches last night. Your tutorial was fantastic. My finished product is a bit crooked but that’s just me being hasty. I’ll be making more of these – my friends all deserve one! Thanks!

Oh cute little bags! I think we need some of those hooks here too. Our dining chairs have, let me count, seven coats and a number of other garments hanging off them now. Must ask hubby about getting us one or two sets of hooks.

Our house has been revolutionized by coat hooks too! We put them up this past winter and it has made ALL the difference. We even hung a little short one so Lauren could practice hanging up her own coat 🙂

I’m loving the kidlets! I have got to make one of those! So much to sew, so little time . . .

We have hooks and STILL have stuff all over the chairs… I guess we need more hooks! The little bags are darling. Hope you are well and enjoying the early summer weather!

    Very cute.
My 2 year old does the same thing. He pretends to be a kitty. Up to the point where he comes and licks us. Blagh. We have cats though but they are outside cats.

i’m impressed with the cat racks and totes. what a great idea. out coat closet looks like a tornado came and mistakenly cropped off some hundred pairs of shoes on its way out! thanks for the idea.
