I went off on a little tangent with these drawstring bags. Can’t help it! Remember when I made one last year? I promised I’d be making more and I finally got around to it. Sometimes I don’t follow through on those promises but I’m glad I did this time. I used Sotak Handmade’s pattern again, which you can find here.
Busting out the hoarded mini charm pack of Architextures fabric that my friend Rossie sent me ages ago (thanks again Rossie!), I felt like it was the perfect fit for a little get well gift for a friend. I’m filling it up with a little bit of chocolate and sending it on it’s way today. I can’t wait to see how she likes it!
Then of course being curious, I decided to pull out some of my friend Holly’s fabric collection, Brush Strokes and make another! I really love how cheery the colors are and I always love seeing how things look so great when they’re quilted. It definitely feels like some kind of magic. I added some of the beautiful Cirrus Solid (Shadow) that Holly had sent me for when I made her a bucket bag and it looks super sharp. I’m excited to pop this one in the mail, too!
I love making little projects like these and straight lines are always so relaxing to sew. I’m excited about so many projects right now! I can’t stop myself from wanting to start all of them at once. That’s what Spring does to me I guess, it happens without fail every year.
What’s on your sewing list? Are you participating in Me Made May? I love seeing all the posts popping up in my feed.
Pattern: Patchwork Drawstring Bag by Sotak Handmade
Fabric: Architextures by Carolyn Friedlander and
Brush Strokes by Holly DeGroot (p.s. she just opened her brick and mortar shop!!!! yayy!)
I’m working on my daughter’s Easter Dress (my machine broke on Good Friday). Maybe I should move on, but I’m trying to develop some discipline in finishing projects! I have some sewing to do for my soon-to-arrive niece or nephew, and I’ve just realized that I should probably make teacher gifts–not much time left!
Love them!! They’re super cute. Love the pics too of course, Natalie is looking so grown up!! Thanks for being awesome my friend!
Love this Drawstring pattern and I have Svetlana’s rare Charm pack of her screen prints to use! So hard to cut these precious squares! On my list is a Traverse Bag and trying to figure out a matching outfit I can make. Your bags always come out so pretty…do you hand Quilt them?
Very cute bags, Anna!
Gorgeous… and would make great knit/crochet project bags!
Bardzo lubię patchwork. Ciekawe torby, ciekawe pomysły. Pozdrawiam.
I’ve never considered using drawstring bags for more than carrying my track spikes in high school, but I am definitely bumping this project up to the top of my list! So cute!!
