Color Block Super Tote

It’s mine!  haha.  Seriously though, this one I’m keeping too!  Call me crazy.  Not sure if I can part with any of them.  I was chatting with Dana the other night and told her I needed to make a ‘Dana’ style Super Tote.  Something fun and color blocked.  Hope I sort of accomplished that!

It took me way longer than usual to pick out the colors for the exterior.  Kind of intimidating.  I really wanted to incorporate yellow, but held off.  Maybe I’ll make another version with the yellow.  Can’t stop!

This was also the lining I surgically removed from my last Super Tote when I changed my mind and made a whole new lining.  I was happy to have that part already completed!

Pattern: Super Tote
Exterior Fabric: Essex Linen in Hot Pink from Pink Castle Fabrics, Cotton Couture in Coral (I think?), and Yarn Dyed Essex in Black
Lining Fabric: Anna Maria Horner Field Study Sundials in Glow, some Architextures (yes, I’m obsessed), and Lotta Jansdotter Bella

  8. Love this tote! Just bought fabric for myself. Do you have a similar tote that is shallower then this one?

    1. Anna says:

Thank you! Hmm, I can’t think of a shallower version, but you might want to pop around on my tutorials and pattern pages and see if you can find one that you like. 🙂

spectacular! those colors are great, and each time I see you make another, I keep thinking how I need to get my act together to make one. it’s too bad my to do list is so long right now…

I see that you have the elastic pockets on both sides on this one, great idea! I’ll have to mimic that in one of my next ones. It’s very interesting picking out the fabrics for the totes. I find I have to problem with the exterior choices, and then I get bogged down with the lining choices – does this go, will this go better, do I have enough!

this might be my favourite yet!

  18. Jess says:

So, when you use the linen, are you interfacing your pieces or using canvas as an underlining?

    1. Anna says:

For this one I used interfacing. SF101 first, then Craft Fuse 808. 🙂

Wonderful. Those sundials are great, I thought they looked nice online but when I saw them in person-so pretty! Yes to architectures and Lotta as well 🙂

Like the different take on the handles…is that in the pattern?

    1. Anna says:

thanks Sheila. The handles are the same as the other Super Totes handles I’ve made, but yes, all is included in the pattern. 🙂
