stamped runaround bag

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve made a bag from my Runaround Bag pattern.  I seriously still love it.  It’s a great bag for beginners and experienced alike.  And if you’ve got anyone on your Christmas list you just can’t figure out what to get, making them this bag might just be the ticket!

I love Ellen Luckett Baker’s new line for Kokka called Stamped.  It’s so beautiful, and I think the colors are perfect.  I can think of so many project that this fabric would be great for.  So as soon as I ordered it, I knew it was going to be a Runaround Bag for me.  And if you’re into fiddling with patterns a bit, you can make the bag out of 1/2 yard cuts by adding a seam at the strap and base pieces.
The lining is Hometown by Sweetwater for Moda, I’ve been using it a lot lately, seems to go with everything.  And the binding is a Carolina Chambray in Spice by Robert Kaufman.  It makes a really pretty binding, the chambray has a beautiful mix of color.
I also used a hidden magnetic snap.  I don’t know if I’ll ever use a regular magnet snap again, I just love how great they work and they don’t get in the way or feel too bulky or flimsy.  They’re even easier to install than a regular magnetic snap, too! (Sorry, I can find a link to purchase where I’ve gotten them before, but you can do a search on etsy or google for hidden magnetic snap).
We’re enjoying the snow here today!
