one last outfit (well, maybe)

I finally decided it was time to make a complete outfit.  Yes, I do admit that I make things just because I feel like it and then of course end up with nothing that matches in my girl’s wardrobes.  So most of the time they mix and match (quite haphazardly I might add) at their whim.

Just a simple peasant style tunic/dress/whatever you want to call it.  Some knit striped leggings made from a dress I bought for a few bucks at old navy and a cute little corduroy belt.

Natalie’s been into belts lately, so I thought she’d like it with this top, to make it look less like a potato sack.  The top is made with a double gauze Trefle print by Kokka that I picked up a Crafty Planet a while back.

She wore it to school – so that’s a good sign!

Beautiful pictures! I especially like your fabric choices. I also agree with the belting idea, since my husband commented my little girl’s peasant dresses look like muu muus.

  10. *sigh* double gauze….. so soooo soft. I wish I could wear double gauze jammies all day long.

Loverly. I can’t wait to get some sewing done for my kiddos. Hopefully next week. Isn’t the best when you know your kids love what you make for them?

Wearing it to school is the _ultimate_ compliment in our household ๐Ÿ™‚ I love the stripy leggings, I must get on and make some. If I tell her they’re kind of Cat in the Hat she might go for it. The top is lovely too. Is the belt attached? Do you like the double gauze to sew with? I did a top out of it for KCWC and generally I really liked it, though it presented challenges you don’t get with regular cottons! (sorry, I just realised how many questions there are in this comment)
